The AFL Goldfields Womens Competition commenced, to some extent built from the expired Goldfields Division of the VWFL.
Division 1 :
Participating clubs were (complete, in ladder order after H&As) :
 1. North Geelong,
 2. Redan,

 3. Sunbury Kangaroos,
 4. East Point,
 5. Melton Centrals and
 6. Ballarat.
Grand Final - North Geelong 9.13.67 defeated Redan 1.3.9 @ C E Brown Reserve, Wendouree.
Division 2 :

 1. Carisbrook,
 2. Drysdale,

 3. Bacchus Marsh,
 4. Gisborne and
